Partnerships with Families of Children with Additional Needs
Partnerships with Families of Children with Additional Needs is written for educators working with children with additional needs, including children with disability, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and children who have experienced trauma and stress. It shares evidence-based strategies and effective ways of working, drawing on the latest family-centred practice research. It highlights the importance of working in close partnership with families to support access, participation and meaningful inclusion in your setting.
You will learn about building relationships, understanding family experiences, the impact of caring on family members and positive ways forward through challenging times. You will discover the changes that have happened in additional needs and family-centred support practices over time, and how legislation, frameworks and best practice principles can guide the work you do.
