Investigating through loose parts and schemas

This free resource introduces educators to the power of loose parts and schematic play in early childhood education. Loose parts offer children endless opportunities to explore, problem-solve, and develop fine and gross motor skills while engaging in STEM and creative activities. By observing schemas in action, educators can gain valuable insight into children's thinking and exploration processes. This resource provides practical strategies to support learning through STEM-rich play, fostering curiosity, creativity, and teamwork.

If you find this resource valuable, explore STEM Detectives by Niki Buchan and Bronwyn Cron for more in-depth support on integrating STEM into children's play.
