STEM in play
Investigating through loose parts and schemas
Loose parts encourage imagination and creativity, problem solving, cooperation and team work and develop fine and gross motor skills. Children can manipulate these resources in many different ways, which will provide endless opportunities for engaged exploration of STEM and the arts.
When we see schemas in action, they can provide clues about what children are thinking, making sense of or actively exploring. As educators, we can support children's learning and development through schematic play.
