The first title in this series, Inspiring Play Spaces has been designed to encourage early childhood educators in all settings to create open-ended play spaces. These play spaces will enable children to develop a sense of who they are and an understanding of the world in which they live. The second title, Inspiring Idea takes 10 areas that are of high interest to children and explores them in detail. It provides a multitude of ideas of how educators can support childrens developing passion for learning in a variety of ways.
Ages: 0-5 years
Susie is the owner operator of Holy Trinity Early Learning Centre in Kew, Victoria. She has completed a Master of Education, Diploma of Teaching Early Childhood and a Bachelor of Education Early Childhood and earned the "exemplary" teacher classification with VETASSESS. She has also won the NEiTA ASG Inspirational Teachers State and Territory Award and been nominated for the national award. Susie taught kindergarten for 20 years, lectured at Deakin University, presented at conferences and co-authored five books. Through her consulting business, she has supported the wider community in achieving exceeding in the NQS.
Susie specialises in art and children’s artistic development. As owner operator of her own service, Susie is now enjoying the executive role of early learning and supporting her team to create an early learning service with a difference in Melbourne.
Natalie has been an early childhood educator for more many years. After completing her Certificate III in children's services, she travelled to the UK where she worked in a kindergarten and ran an English as a Second Language course for the pre-prep groups. On her return, she began working at St Paul's Kindergarten while also studying her Diploma in Early Childhood. Her passion for leading programs that focus on sensory activities and creating imaginary play spaces meant that she jumped at the opportunity to coauthor her first book 'Inspiring Play Spaces'.
