Sneaky Snake
Sneaky Snake is a picture book in which a joey (baby kangaroo) loses his mother and finds himself confronted by a stranger with not so good intentions.
With wonderful illustrations that bring the Australian outback to life, Jill Eggleton explores 'stranger danger', skilfully building up the tension in a way that will make your children join the chorus of the squawking birds before the final happy outcome delivering children the message.
- Bubba Kanga loves jumping along in his mother's pouch. But one day she jumps so high, Bubba Kanga bumps right out!
Look out, Bubba Kanga! Here comes sneaky Snake.
No! No! No!
Tell that snake to
Go! Go! Go!
The illustrator, Terry Fitzgibbons, has spent time working in remote parts of Australia and has a particular interest in drawing nature. His gentle, engaging illustrations in Sneaky Snake will aid children's understanding of the characterisation of Bubba Kanga, Snake, and other animals of the Australian outback.
The illustrations will also help young readers to understand character's emotions and contribute to building conversation between parent and child around the choices Bubba Kanga could make.
